No. Ceramic braces are just like pottery in that the ceramic material is non-porous and will not take up the colour of food or drink. The small rubber bands (modules) that hold the arch wire into the brace can take up food colour. We change these modules at each adjustment visit. We recommend that patients avoid any food or drink that contains turmeric, yellow or orange coloured flavouring and curries until just before their adjustment visit.
